Getting Ready for the
2026- 2027 School Year
Why Family Input Matters?
•Parents work more closely with their children than other adults can
•Parents provide critical input that only they can bring: They know their child better than anyone else
•Involved parents not only help their child, but all children in the school
•Parents are the only adults in the educational process who have been and will continue to be deeply involved throughout the child’s school career.
•While parents may not be educators themselves, they bring their years of experience in other professions and aspects of life to the process.

Family Engagement Policy
A school Family Engagement Policy is a written policy that contains information related to how the school is expected to interact with parents and specific parent activities that will be held by the school.
School Improvement Plan
A School Improvement Plan is intended to improve the educational programs in a school. The primary goal is to assist all students in meeting and exceeding standards on state curriculum.
Building Staff Capacity
What topics and ways do you feel the schools could go about educating their entire staff in the value of family contributions, how to work with families as equal partners, implement and coordinate family programs, and build ties between parents/families and the school ?
